How to Install Halo CE Mobile
Installing makes it run full screen, keep your saves and work offline. You only do this once.
iPhone and iPad
Open hcemobile.com in Safari, tap Share (bottom on iPhone, top on iPad), then Add to Home Screen and Add. In Chrome or Edge on iPhone, Share is at the top right.
Android
In Chrome, tap the ⋮ menu, then Install app (or Add to Home screen). In Samsung Internet, tap ☰, then Add page to, then Home screen.
Computer
It also installs and runs on a computer, where keyboard and mouse are supported.
Halo CE Mobile Disc Image: Loading Your Game Data
Choose an Xbox disc image of Halo: Combat Evolved (.iso or .xiso, any version). The app copies the maps folder, up to about 1.8 GB, into its private storage, and you can delete the disc image afterwards. Nothing is uploaded.
If the image is not on your phone, you can load it from a direct download link to your own storage, such as Dropbox, Amazon S3, Cloudflare R2 or your own server. Google Drive and other sharing pages do not work. You can keep several disc images (a multiplayer disc, the full game, a modded copy), each with its own saved games.
Multiplayer, Co-op and Split Screen
Online matchmaking
Social, Ranked and Experimental playlists with Halo 2-style ranks from 1 to 50, plus Custom Games lobbies you can host, join and invite friends to. Online play needs a free account.
Friends and chat
A friends list, private messages, clans, lobby chat and global chat, available in the game and on the website.
Remote co-op
The host runs the game and streams player 2’s view to a friend’s device, so the friend does not need the game data. Campaign co-op requires the full game.
Local play
Split screen for up to four players and System Link. The campaign, split screen and System Link work without an account.
Touch Controls, Controllers and Settings
Two touch layouts
Modern (like other mobile shooters) or an on-screen Original Xbox controller. Both are fully editable, with adjustable aim sensitivity.
Controllers
Xbox, PlayStation, Switch Pro, MFi and Backbone controllers work, as do keyboard and mouse.
Resolution
Automatic picks 480p on phones, 360p on slow ones and up to 1080p on computers. You can choose 360p to 1440p or native resolution.
If a level goes black
Turn on lower-resolution textures to use less graphics memory. If models look stretched, try drawing paths A, B and C in settings.

Is there a Halo CE Mobile APK?
No. Halo CE Mobile is a web app. On Android you install it from Chrome with Install app, and on iPhone with Add to Home Screen.
Can I play Halo CE on iPhone?
Yes. Open hcemobile.com in Safari, add it to your Home Screen and load your disc image. It runs full screen and offline once installed.
Do I need my own copy of Halo?
Yes. You load a disc image of your own Xbox copy. A friend joining through remote co-op does not need the game data.
